41. A provisional teaching licence to which section 40 refers is valid for a period of not more than 3 years and expires at the end of the second school year following the year in which it was issued.
It may be renewed for
(1)  a first period of 2 school years if its holder has earned at least 21 credits in education in the teacher training program in general education referred to in section 40;
(2)  a second period of 2 school years if its holder has earned at least 33 credits in education in the same program; and
(3)  a final period of one school year if its holder has earned at least 51 credits in education, including one practicum, in the same program.
